ABOUT THIS MEXICAN CLAY MINIATURE  

This outstanding Miniature Nativity was hand crafted in Metepec, a town located in central Mexico, worldwide known for the high quality of it´s pottery. It beautifully displays a nativity or creche with baby Jesus, Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, the angel, the 3 wisemen, tree Sheppards and the animals inside a pot. 

 The whole piece is surrounded with flowers and butterflies with Bethlem star at the top. 

 Making a piece like this takes many days of dedication from picking up and sifting the clay, molding the piece to placing it in the oven and finally arriving to the utmost delicate process of painting. 

  Mastering this craft is a process that takes years and is transmitted from one generation to the next. Usually the artists learn the technique at a very young age while playing with clay in their family workshops.
